Troop 296 goes camping every month, offering Scouts the chance to explore the outdoors, learn new skills, and build lasting friendships. We camp at a variety of locations, including state parks and official BSA campgrounds, where Scouts can enjoy hiking, cooking over a campfire, working on rank advancement, and participating in hands-on activities that bring the Scouting program to life. Whether it’s your first time sleeping in a tent or you’re an experienced camper, our trips are designed to be fun, safe, and rewarding for everyone. Camping is a big part of what makes Scouting exciting.

This event is part of the crossover from Cub Scouts to a Boy Scouts. A troop is paired up with a group of Cubs to spend the day with. The Cubs get to experience what a real BSA camp is like. Recommended for scouts who like to be with younger kids. If any sscouts join, you earn the recruiter strip.
Summer camp is a weeklong camp during the summer that is filled with fun activities. At camp, you have the opportunity to earn lots of merit badges. Some key differences are that we don't cook our own food, we don't have to bring tents, and we can participate in aquatics activities! Highly recommended for every scout.
